The Show Scene Magazine

Picture shows, fashion shows, politics, concerts, car shows, art shows, festivals, dog shows, and life!

THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. If it is happening and we have our eyes on it -- It is a SHOW! The creators of The Show Scene Magazine have come together to bring you an all new look at entertainment. We feel that life  is a form of a show.

Our goal at the Show Scene  is to bring to light what shows are out there. What goes in to making things happen and covering them as they happen.

Editor in Chief

Lucy Bocanegra

Born in Chicago, IL and raised in Dallas, Texas since the age of 7.   "Ya'll " is used in her vocabulary, so Lucy considers herself Texan enough!

This Sunset High School graduate started writing for the Stampede in High School, then went on to be published in international publications in the auto industry.  She has also been a writer for scripted radio and TV commercials.

Lucy's passion is writing and hopes to inspire young people to chase their dream in pursuing their writing careers.   This is why Lucy organized the group called North Tejas Writers and together with the City of Dallas Cultural Affairs and the Oak Cliff Cultural Center held a writers workshop and published the works of 12 writers who had not been published previously.

Lucy plans to work with groups or individuals who want to experience the art of writing and provide them a forum to get printed.  As a portfolio building tool The North Tejas Writers joins other groups such as The Hispanic Communicators, The DFW  Latino Writers and OCCA who all encourage writing and education. Plans as the Co-Editor of the Magazine is to extend the writing opportunities of the magazine to high School students wanting to get an idea of what it means to write, meet deadlines and take initiative in story leads.

Lucy Bocanegra like to believe in the "YES THEORY"  Saying yes to ideas, feedback, and invitations only opens the doors to opportunities and or experiences you normally will not get if you say , "NO" or "let me think about it."  While she wants to make sure her 3 children take precaution in all they do and who they trust she emphasizes to biting a bit more than they can chew - just to challenge themselves.  "There is nothing wrong with dreaming and trying.  If it's truly your wish to try - then nothing is lost."

Rosie Padilla, also known as "ROCKZ", writes articles for us about topics no one wants to talk about. She serves as the Fashionista, she's the fashion police!  This classy lady not only tells you what shades look good on you, she also gives advice on lamp shades too!

Rockz is a Hondo, Texas native that came to Dallas very young.  She was raised by her father, John that passed away in 2009.  This fact alone may explain why she demands respect as she carry's herself in a respectful manner.  While she did start motherhood very young, it never was a reason to compromise her self respect or education.  Rockz has a full time job in office administration . Rockz's  modeling career got a major boost when she started doing car show photo shoots in the year of 2012 for different cars and car clubs, and with that she was mentioned to be on the rise following Dazza Del Rio. You can catch photos of Rockz and her work in her fan page, www.facebook.com/larockz, where she has a good following.

Rockz met the man of her dreams while working the Dallas Lowrider car show in August of 2012.  She married her better half and together they have 4 children from previous marriages, the oldest Adrian , Alyssa , Jayson and Little Jayden.  Rockz does plan to grow her family, however wants to enjoy the newlywed life a while with her best friend. But in all doing , and  most importantly, maintain herself as a person for her children and husband to be proud of.
